Dining side table

I am in the middle of building my dining chairs but I decided to detour to another furniture :) And I gotta say, this is my latest favorite furniture in the house.

DIY Dining Side Table

Cut list:

(1) 1 X 15 X 50" (top shelf)
(1) 1 X 10 X 48" (bottom shelf)
(4) 1 X 1-1/2 X 48" (long decor pattern frame pieces)
(4) 1 X 1-1/2 X 10" (short decor pattern frame pieces)
(6) 1 X 1-1/2 X 5" (side frame pieces)
(4) 1 X 3 X 25-3/4" (legs, tapered)
(1) 1 X 5 X 45" (long decor piece)
(2) 1 X 5 X 10" (short side decor pieces)

My Steps:

1. Cut all the part pieces (from Cut list).

 2. I made my pattern from cereal box :).

3. Traced the my pattern on the board by repeating it.
 4. Make the front (long) and 2 short sides. Cut.

5. For more detailing (or 3D effect?), I did some carving (using chisel) on the pattern to make it look like the pattern have loops as shown. ( This took most of my time). Sand to smooth.

6. Painted the decorative pieces (it would be difficult to paint it when already attached).

7. Build the top.

8. Then I attached the decorative pattern.

9. Attached the legs and bottom shelf. Fill screw holes with wood filler.

10. Sanded and painted it with ivory  primer and paint in one with satin finish. Let dry.

  1. Hey there just wanted to give you a quick heads up and let you know a few of the pictures aren't loading correctly. I'm not sure why but I think its a linking issue. I've tried it in two different browsers and both show the same outcome.home office chair uk
